Bullets

* Just a little update! Sugar is lovin' her play set to death! She could spend hours in the sand box. It was her first time going bare feet in the sand, she couldn't stop wiggling her toes!

*We got a pretty big scare the other day, she was going up the little ladder and she fell back onto the ground. She didn't really fall far, she didn't have any bumps or scrapes but she cried crocodile tears. I ran to her as fast as I could and picked her up and she went limp in my arms while still crying her eyes out. I held her and told her it was ok and tried to get her to look at me all the while preparing to run her into emerge. I asked her if she wanted a glass of water and she said yes which was good cause then I knew she was responsive. I gave her some water and she seemed better after that. My thoughts are that she has never had a fall that scared her before and she was a little shocked. I was so glad she was ok! Everything happened so fast!
When you don't have any background on a child's 1st four years of life and something like this happens the way they could respond is a terrifying thing for a parent to cope with. If it had been Jaclyn I would have ran over and she would have just whimpered in by arms for a minute then went right back up the ladder, but she was rough and tumble all her life. At least I'll have a better idea what to expect next time she has a fall.

*We had a parent information night for kindergarten students Monday evening. We met in the gymnasium for a bit then we had a tour of the school. Sugar seemed to do ok on the stairs it's my biggest worry because she still hasn't totally grasped control of them yet. We'll keep practicing this summer and hopefully she'll feel more confidant. Afterwards the kids got to go on the bus for a little ride. Sugar was so excited! She talked about it all day. On our way she was sitting in the truck and out of no where came a squeal from the backseat, I said, "What??" as I almost slammed the breaks and she said "I SO HAPPY and Cited!" LOL She is going to do just fine this fall...I on the other hand....... :o( Gulp!

* Daddy built us a bird house to put on the play set and Sugar and I painted it. It's so cute! I thought the flags on each side of the roof would be a nice touch.

*The weather hasn't been the greatest here yet, we have been doing lots of indoor stuff but not alot outside. When it's half decent out we take advantage of it.

*Chinese school is almost over for the summer. We have two weeks left. I'll have to see if I can find some "Learning Chinese" resources to try to keep her acquainted with her first language until they start up again in the fall.

*I just looked up from my laptop and I seen a hummingbird at my window! That's a good sign! I was out earlier and picked a bunch of lilacs to put in the house. I love the smell of them! Summer is coming!

*This morning Sugar and I were in the activity room working on her "First Year Home" scrapbook and I realised I only have 3 months left and it will be complete! Where is the time going? Gosh I'm back to work in 3 months!

*Has anyone seen the new Shrek movie? Sugar has never been to the theater yet I wondered if Shrek would be one she would like. We collected the glasses from McDonald's, she loves the donkey one. Speaking of Shrek did I read the sign at McDonald's correctly... Mint Ogre-Load? Who knew their loads were minty? ikes! EDIT June 5th: So here I am a few days later returning the Shrek glasses....bummer.

*I had a few people ask me to make cakes for them recently, when I first started to play around I said I would never do it but I actually really enjoy it so I'm making my first one for a baby's baptism this weekend. I'm making a double layer vanilla 9x13 slab cake with quilted pearlized white fondant then adding all edible decorations on the top with "God Bless Chloe" written on it. I'll take pics and share when it's done.

*Our youth pastor at our church stepped down last week, he and his beautiful wife are newly married and they feel a different calling in this season of their lives, they aren't leaving our church or anything just serving in a different area. I volunteered to help out in any area I can until they hire a new associate pastor. The elders are hoping someone will be in place by September. We have great youth leaders and we all seem to work well together. We also have really really awesome youths who have amazing leadership qualities so we are hoping to encourage them to step into new roles with it for the summer while we leaders stand back and oversee. We'll see where God takes it! I feel like it has wings!

Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Aw! Thanks for sharing.

Amazing, isn't it? Time flies and you just can't seem to slow it down. One day kindergarden, the next day you are walking them down the aisle. :::sigh:: I don't have to tell you that, though.

Oh i am glad your little peanut is okay. That is the hardest part for me with Elly. When she cries and she can't communicate what she is feeling/thinking yet, and she gets frustrated and cries. Bless their hearts.

I've been praying for you. Just know that.

The bird house will be the finishing touch! The girls and Daddy built me a birdhouse, it had beach glass and shells from the Island, it meant so much!

so love the play set, but you need to watch out for ants. We had them big time always in the sand and around.

I'm so happy that she is ok - poor little thing.

Wow, I know you must have been very frightened. Glad she is okay.
Evan really enjoyed Shrek. Toy Story 3 is coming out soon too! Evan finds movies very fascinating! He loves going to the theater so much!

I can't believe it has already been a year since you got the call. It will be one year July 25 since we found Evan on the list!
