Got to the hotel and had a nice chat then lights out so we could get up early to go to breakfast with Doris and Dan. I texted her at 7:15 and told her we would meet them at the mall in front of Zellers and we would go from there. She led and we followed to Eggspectations a very cool little restaurant. We got there at about 8 and we didn't stop talking from the time we met till we parted over 3 hours later. We really enjoyed our visit with them they are awesome people. She gave me these sweet little gifts below. The ladybug trinket box is just adorable. I love the little hair clips and the festive napkins will come in handy next week for my youth leaders Christmas pot luck.
We left the restaurant and went to the Fairview mall to find an outfit for Shane to wear to his Christmas party and he and Dan went into a shop and he found a new jacket and then they set out to find dress pants and a shirt. It took them about 20 minutes to find an outfit and Monday it took me a better part of the day! That's men shopping for ya! I was so exciting to meet Doris and Dan, it was like we were friends for years...well I guess we were really. But you would think we had done it before. One thing is for certain....we will meet again. Shane and I checked out a few more shops and headed back to the hotel for a rest then to get ready for the party.
We went to a wonderful French Italian restaurant called Ville Mossimo. The venue was breath taking, there were wine bottles EVERYWHERE! From the floor to the ceiling on just about every wall. We had a beautiful meal. The waiters were at our table filling wine glasses all night. We didn't have any, Shane was driving and the only wine I like is a blush grapefruit wine and I didn't want them to open a bottle just for me. The desert was delish and as we headed out the door they were chasing us with a plate of white and dark chocolate! It was like I was in a romantic movie!
All in all the highlight of our trip truly was meeting Doris and Dan. Thank you guys for being such wonderful hosts Saturday morning. I hope you get to come see our "Singing Sands" AKA "Squeaky Beaches" someday! LOL ;O)
