17 months ago our file was logged in to the CCAA. We had no idea we would be waiting this long. I remember thinking if we only have 7-9 months that we should hurry up and get our daughters room ready. We put alot of time and love into getting her room done just soooo. For the first little while I would go in and sit there on the rocking chair just rocking with a smile on my face and a happy heart. As time passed and we found out the wait increased to 9-12 months our hearts sunk but we continued on holding on to our dream. Time passed again and we were told the time lines increased once again. I would still go into her room and look at her things, pick up a teddy bear and hold it to my heart and whisper "soon" as I left her room. Time lines keep increasing and her little curtains have faded, her room had become a place to store things that along with it aren't being used at this time, and the color of the walls are no longer warm and inviting. I know the day will come when joy and love will fill that little room but for now it's last savored memory was when I seen the dim light shinning beneath the door and when I softly turned the knob to peer inside I seen her daddy with his both arms stretched out over her crib touching her little teddy bear and dreaming of her......One of the sweetest things I dream of laying eyes on is the day that this daddy holds his precious long awaited baby girl in his aching arms and we can both tuck her in at night.
