She got to go around to a few of the different tables that had different activities, she got a great kick out of the magnifying glasses ;O)
Here she is waiting for the bus to come...rehearsing how it would go down..."I go on bus, mommy follow bus, mommy get me at school, take me to class, mommy come back after to see me, ect.
Getting pretty excited!
A little concerned but very bravely she turned and went to her seat. I joined the convoy of Kindergarten mommies who were also following...actually the mom who was first in line graciously let me cut in front of her ;O). At school she was very happy to see me at the bottom of the bus steps waiting for her. She was excited to get to class and had zero problem with me leaving. I drove home and I was gathering stuff out of my SUV with the door open and another mom drove by and stopped in wondering if I was sitting in my car crying LOL. I wasn't but thought it was sweet that she was willing to comfort me. I came in to my uncomfortably quiet house and I swept, and mopped...then as I listened to the clock on the wall tick it occurred to me I hadn't heard that sound in a year...I hate that sound! Then I started to think about all the other moms and how fortunate they were to have spent the first 5 years with their little ones before they went off the K. The flood doors opened and I had me a good little cry...it felt good to get it out. I really feel like I just sent my 1 year old off to school. :o(. She will do just fine...I on the other hand am going to need some time to get used to this. I went back at 11:30 to just let her know I was still around. Then again at 2:00 I stopped to see her and ask her if she wanted to go home on the bus or did she want to come home with me. She decided to take the bus and I told her I would be in the drive way waiting for her. She had a great day and couldn't wait for the next day to come. Our little girl is so brave!
