Summer Bucket list!!!!

A while back I was sitting here in front of my computer reading a blog remembering how long the wait was and how often I wished I could just be swept away on a little retreat to get away from the everyday and just enjoy life for a while without having to cater to anything/one. I did do little things here and there. I went on a few trips with my wonderful husband which helped make the wait bearable. I met this one sweet gal 3 or so years ago and we have been following each others blog since. She has been a great encouragement to me (and MANY others) and always looks at the brighter side of life. I love that about her. One day out of the blue I asked her if she would ever consider coming to Canada from Arizona for one week to do just that (get away from the everyday). I love that it took her no time to say yes! So here we are 2 days before she arrives! I am really excited for her! It's her first time in Canada, so this will be a good practice run for when she goes to China. We started talking about some of the things we can do when she comes and it looks like there will be a ton of firsts! SOOOOOO!!!! I decided to make a "PEI Summer Bucket List" for her. I don't expect we will get threw them all but we will aim for the ones that tickle her fancy most. I've literally written them all out on little pieces of paper and taped them to the outside of a bucket...if she gets threw at least half of them we'll let her kick her "PEI Summer Bucket" before she goes back home. I thought about listing them here but that will take away the suspense and the fun of it so I'll post every couple of days and tell you what she kicked off her list. Plus it will make an interesting post for her ;O). Stay tuned for lots of fun and laughs! We sure hope this trip blesses her! That's our aim. ;O)

Sorry Kim for not listing everything!!! LOL....don't want to spoil all the fun now do we????.....what you can read from the picture will tease you enough ;O).

Here are a few pics I took outside today. This year was the best year yet for my cherry tree! I think I'm going to try to make a wild cherry pie. Anyone have a good recipe?? I found one online but if you have one that was tested and true I'd love to have it!

Oh and in other news the second car we have that dear hubby uses for work broke down the other day...he got it fixed but I bought that car new off the lot in 1998 and it has served us well for the past 12 years. Dear Hubs needs something he can rely on for long distance driving so we went out yesterday and leased a new Honda Civic sport. Here's a picture of Sugar Pie testing out all the buttons! She wanted to be sure here DVD player would fit on the headrest ;O).
