Day 7: Hoover Dam to Newport Beach, O.C

Ouch! My legs are like rubber today after all the walking we did in the last 2 days! What a workout! I'll be able to use a horseshoe for a thigh master by the time we get home! We made a quick trip back to the Venetian this morning to have a look at the replica of paintings from Micheal Angelo that are on the ceiling there. What a sight!
We drove to Hoover Dam and it was also magnificent! Pictures don't give places like this the credit they deserve. The magnitude and splendor of the rock formation vs the once most furious , dangerous river in the world made it a thrilling experience and sight to see. We decided to drive over the Dam bridge (with all due respect) to Arizona and we discovered Lake Mohave at the bottom of a Mt. It was a park for water sport enthusiasts. We went down for a drive and stuck a foot in the water and we were surprised at how cold it was considering it was in the 90's. This Lake connects to Lake Mead that feeds into the Dam.
When we were heading back up the Mountain I looked over at Shane and said "You know you want to......" so he pulled off the side of the road onto the fine gravel and he spun out! It was awesome, we seen the dust flying until we got to the top of the mountain! It would be a blast to go four wheeling around some of these mountains! We headed back toward the proverbial city that never sleeps so we could get on the I 15 and head to O.C. Where we hope to get a good long nights rest. We heard sirens and traffic and people most of the last 2 nights. Did I mention we walked alot these last 2 days! Ouch!
I seen a mountain goat in the Mt's today! Shane and I got to enjoy the most beautiful light show that no man could ever replicate. We watched a Tropical Sunset Ride over all the Mountain crest it splashed red, orange, yellow, and pink beams of natural beauty threw the Heavens. It brought a tear to my eyes. All the lights in Sin City couldn't hold a candle to our Creators faithful sunset experience. Enjoy today's slide show. See you tomorrow. Maybe.....it's our 6 year anniversary so if I don't get a chance to post tomorrow I'll be sure to catch you up to date Sunday. Hugs to everyone back home. We love you and miss you!! I saw Vegas and the Hoover Dam for the first (and probably only) time over Labor Day last year. We attended a wedding out there. We really loved seeing the Hoover Dam... the Husband (engineer) + Hoover Dam = Extreme Happiness.

I hope y'all are able to rest your tired legs over the next few days. I remember the Las Vegas walking!

Makes me want to head off to Las Vegas again... another interesting place to go is Valley of Fire State Park - though with the heat... it maybe a little to hot... we would drive out to Laughlin and there you can get on a boat and go down the Colorado River to Lake Havasu City and walk across the real London Bridge... it is excellent... I am SO jealous you were here... the Chinatown in Vegas... that didn't really do all that much for me...
