"When you get to the end of your rope....tie a knot and hang on."

There's a little girl who is 4 years old. She's getting ready to come downstairs to go with her Mommy and Daddy on an outing. Daddy would always play this little game with her, she would get down a couple of steps and Daddy would say 'Wait, wait, wait, jump and I'll catch you." Now you see the little girl is 4 so the first couple of times you know what happens she waits till his hands are a little closer and he says, " No, no, no, it's alright honey really I'll catch you." So she leans his way and falls into his hands. Well, they do this over and over and over again and it's a great game they play. Finally she is 5 years old and she's getting a little braver and Daddy says, "No, no, step back a couple of steps", so she backs up a couple of steps, "Lets see how far you can jump!" Well, she has done this enough you know week after week and now she's up a good 4-5 steps and whoooooooohooooo she dives out and Daddy catches her.
Well time passes and before she turns 6 tragedy hits that home and the unimaginable happens. There is a fire and the house is completely consumed with flames and everybody gets out but this little girl.....she is up in her window crying, smoke and flames everywhere, she can't see a thing the smoke has blinded her eyes but, she can hear and she hears one thing, she hears her Daddy below saying "Jump honey I'll catch you", and in that moment she trusts her Daddy, she knows his voice and he has never dropped her so she jumps....That's faith. That's knowing someone so well trusting their heart so perfectly that even when none of the visuals line up when everything looks terrible and like it's completely in the wrong direction you hear that voice and you say I know my Daddy He doesn't drop me and you jump by faith.

I took the day off yesterday to get caught up on some paperwork and complete my last quarterly before my next one comes up at the end of the month. I started at 9 and finished around 4:30 ish and had the rest of the day to do whatever I wanted so I thought I'd take a trip to Charlottetown which is about an hour away. I wanted to go to Micheal's to see what fun crafts I could do for the fall season. I was in there for a couple of hours which is easy for me because I LOVE the place. While I'm shopping around I realize my mind is off in the distance thinking about this batch of only 4 days that the CCAA matched and I thought you know I've been really doing well threw this process, I have been very optimistic but suddenly I felt hopeless, discouraged, and just in a real dry place. I felt my inner skeptic was loosing faith. I paid for my things and headed home. On the drive I started to pray and just thank God for the people in my life and when I got to praying for our daughter in China I completely lost it and became totally unraveled. I told Him that this process just feels so surreal and that if he could reveal the reality of it to me in a tangible way that I would have something to be hopeful for again. I got home and I remembered the above story and that was my ahhhh haaa moment. I just need to reclaim my faith in my Father and continue to trust in Him that it will come to pass.....in his time not mine.

Below is a picture of where our file is.....yup this is the """matching room"""...our file is in there ...somewhere along with 202 days worth of other files ahead of us.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. -Phillippians 3:14

That's a great story. Sometimes we all just need an ah-ha moment to put things back in prospective. I believe most of us relate to this, thanks for sharing your ah-ha moment.

Smiles! :o)

Thank you for the incredible insight ---- but I still want to tell the guy in the pic to quit posing and get matching.
We, too, are on the journey and admire your hearts for adoption.

I need to see this post about once a month. Can you re-run it after each referral?? It's perfect for me and it's true. God knows where our daughter is and when she will come home.

Thank you for sharing. Loved the story. Yes, we are all discouraged at times. It does seem surreal. I want to hear God's voice saying be patient, you're doing the right thing.
