12 month LID & Fathers Day
Below is my contribution to a Fathers Day post.
I gave this to my sister a couple of years ago. We lost our dad when we were very young and we don't have a lot of pictures of him. We both noticed he didn't smile in any of them.
I had all the people close to Lori put one stitch in it somewhere just to give it that special touch. I spent the entire winter working on this for her, every spare moment I had the cross stitch needle in my hand.
Dear Lori, Y
I took the time with skill and grace,
to stitch for you our fathers face.
This photograph won't rip or tear,
t'was stitched for you with loving care.
The fabric is dampened with many tears,
of memories and lost dreams from many years.
Many of your loved ones in this project did partake,
with love locked in every stitch without a mistake.
Although he is gone and there will never be another,
the best way to get to know him is through each other.
I didn't know how and it took awhile
but I managed to stitch for you a smile!YLove Debz
Also want to wish my wonderful husband a very Happy Fathers Day.
I LOVE YOU HUNNY!YTuesday, May 15, 2007
11 month LID
Well here we are at 11 months and still many months away from our baby girl.
Now just so you know I took the 11 degrees picture on Tuesday and my husband who was in Quebec city took this picture to show me how nice it was there and sent it to me on Wednesday. Is it great minds thinking alike or what??? I just hope that is not how many months we have to wait, but I couldn't help but think that when I seen it. What would you think?

10 month LID Anniversary!
WHOOO HOOOO! We finally hit the double digits. Instead of looking for a graphic for our 10 month LID I thought I'd get creative and make my own. I challange you to get creative with your LID anniversarys, lets see what you can come up with. Write it in the sand, snow or your soup, whatever you want. I think it will be fun to see how you do.

There were only 2 days worth of LID's referred this month or last month however you want to look at it. This is very discouraging news, for those of you who don't understand, it means that each month the CCAA sends 1 batch of referrals out based on their LID. Right now there are 232 more days to go before they get to us.The CCAA used to match up to 28-30 days but have decreased over the last few months to anywhere from 15-11-9 days. Now that they did only 2 days worth it makes me wonder how long will these small batches will last. All I can do is hope and pray that this trend will speed up. It will be encouraging to see the numbers back to the double digits.
Thanks Aunt Lori for the sweet Easter gifts, you made my day! I wish she were here so I could put them on her. I think the little t-shirt and scort are adorable with the little fish on them. Not to mention the smallest bathing suit I think I've ever seen! The sandals are sweet too. We're going to have quite a wardrobe for our little bunny. I can't wait to dress her up for Church on Sunday mornings, oh the fun I'm going to have!
On another note I was in at our local dollar store today to pick up some stationary and had a peek around, I almost dropped on the floor when I seen pregnancy tests for a buck!!!! I spent a bloody fortune on those things for years before our adoption process. But really though in all honesty can they guarantee quality assurance for a buck?

9 Month LID!!! Who's Your Paddy!
Wow, we made it to nine months already! I hope the next nine or more go by fast. To celebrate the significance of the "9 months LID" we were forced to buy a new car, DH's little '92 Ford Festiva finally said her farewell. She lasted two years longer than we thought she would which helped us to save a little extra for our trip to China. So off we went on our hunt for a second car. I kinda forgot what a hard decision it is to make since the last car shopping I did was 9 years ago. We looked around and found a few we were happy with and by Friday we had narrowed it down to one. We had a draft made up for the financing and were hoping to finalize everything by Monday, then Saturday we had someone approach us with a really great deal on this '06 Pursuit which was too good to pass up. It looks and feels alot like my Cavalier. I totally felt at home behind the wheel. We felt really bad for the salesman who we had do up a draft for us so we called him at home to let him know in lots of time that we had a change of heart. He was very understanding. God Bless You salesman "B".
So to celebrate our 9 month LID we would like to introduce to you " L'il Miss Son Shine."
Happy St.Paddy's Day everyone.
