Put a post on your blog introducing yourself and visit other blogs. There are great give aways and wonderful prizes all week long.
Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Let me introduce myself and family.

We are Shane and Deb. We live in PEI, Canada. We have a beautiful 23 year old daughter who has a 1 1/2 year old little girl I call my Grandbutton. Four and a half years ago we set out on a journey to adopt a little girl from China. It was a long pregnancy! Finally in June last year we got the call that there was a little girl in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China waiting for us. We were thrilled to pieces and couldn't wait to get our hands on her finally. We traveled in September to get her and it was a trip that changed our lives forever. We nicknamed her "Sugar". She has brought us so much joy and happiness. We are so blessed to have her in our lives. She is going to be 5 in May, she is a sturdy 3'3" and 38 pounds of smiles and giggles.

The picture above is the park where she was found at 14 months of age. The orphanage she stayed in for the last 3 1/2 years took wonderful care of her and met all her needs. We are so thankful. This journey was a journey of faith, we felt weak so many times during the wait, we had many days where we wondered if it would ever happen. The timing was all in God's hands and now that I look back at it I see all the growth and things we needed to endure to prepare our hearts for her. If you are waiting with hope, expectancy and faith, I encourage you to hang on. Everything happens for a reason. I see now how everything lined up perfectly to have this exact little girl in our lives. Sometimes I just stare at her in awww....I still have to pinch myself.

I own a hair/nail salon which I opened 16 years ago which I closed down for a year to be home with Sugar. She has been home for 6 months and she is blooming leaps and bounds. She's speaking very good English and learning so fast! She love puzzles, coloring, and having stories read to her.
Here are my 3 favorite girls, so beautiful. I'm so blessed.

This is my new hobby, I figured I have a good reason to make them now! Fondant is like play doe for adults! I really enjoy the challenge. This was one I made for a friend. It's the first one I've given away and I thought it would be neat if I added my signature to each cake I make to bless someone so I put a ladybug on it. I call her Callie Bug.
LOL, a friend of my husband loves the Boston Bruins and he said he would like to have a cake if they win the play offs. I told him I would but I'd have to put Callie bug right in the middle of it. Te He!
This is my other hobby, I love making bows for Sugar Pie and it has spiraled into a little bit of revenue for me. I have a salon in town who wants to carry them and I also have a little blog with them. The link is on my left side bar. It would be really exciting if they really took off! But like I told my hubby, even if it covered my cost for supplies I'd be happy. Below are some of the ones I've made recently.

I love the polka Dots! These can be done in any color.
I customised this one for a little girl who is going to have her 1st Communion. She is just a little sweet heart and he sister is adorable too I might add!

This one is one of my favorites.

I love this combination of colors in this one.

So there you have it, this is a little piece of my life. I hope to be able to visit quite a few blogs this week.

As a Giveaway I will make you any choice of the bows you see in this post or on my Bowz and Clippiez blog HERE plus 2 smaller clippiez to match. Just leave me a comment telling me which bow you would like to win and a link back to you or your e-mail address. If you would like to private message me click HERE with your info. LOL, I'd give away a custom made cake but I don't think it would hold up through shipping ;O).

Ps. This giveaway is not only a part of the blog party. Anyone can particapate! Here are my picks for the prizes at the Ultimate Blog Party.

I would love to win the Veggie Tails Package HERE

And of course Mandy and Pandy Teach Chinese HERE

and the Toshiba Laptop HERE would also be saaweeet!

Any of the following would also be wonderful......USC 13, 35, 39, 55, 30, 2, 14, 27, 36, 37, 40, 16, 26, 12, 15, or 11.

I know in my last post I said I have some exciting news but I'm going to hold off that one for another day. On a much more somber note, if you are the type of person who prays our family sure could use the coverage over the next few days. My 44 year old brother in law passed away today peacefully after a long, well fought battle of brain cancer. He was diagnosed over 2 years ago. We are so blessed he held on as long as he did. He lived life to the brim and was full of energy and joy. He always had a smile and a greeting for everyone and he loved to get to know new people. He leaves behind my beautiful sister in law and two darling little girls one 10 and one almost 7. Rest in peace sweet brother. We love you.

Thanks for stopping by friends, Blessings,

Debz

ALL of your girls are beautiful! Congrats on your adoption! 4 years is such a long time to wait; we adopted our daughter (but it was a whirl-wind, 5 month process for us --domestic adoption).

I'll be praying for your sister and her family -- so very, very sorry for their loss. :(

people find different people for a reason, I have been wanting to adopt a child from china for 5 years and I learned alot from fellow adopted moms and I even purchased a book letters from china, that I love but then my husband lost his job and we went bankrupt and we were taken off the adoption list. Now it's been 1 year later and I still dream of it, would love to chat, found you on ultimate blog party, my first time

I love the cakes. I made a bunny one for my grandsons for Easter plus chocolate egg nests. They were excited. We only ate the ears so as not to hurt the bunny. Polka dots are my favorite and I was once at a bridal showers and the ladies said the bigger the polka dots on your clothes the crazier you are. I like big polka dots!!!
