The Reveal of the Princess Room!

Well, after painting while waiting for Sugar's furniture to arrive, her room became the place to start collecting and sorting out the stuff we would be packing and taking with us to China. I cancelled a bed set on order from Sears that wouldn't be arriving until after we had left for China (apparently it was in the manufacturing stages....you guessed it "In China!"...not sure it would fit in my carry on to bring back with us.) I reordered one slightly different but available in Canada and it was here in a week! So I went into high gear and packed our bags for the trip....yes, you heard me right...I AM PACKED and it feels good! It might be 4 weeks early but a part of me is relieved it's one less thing to worry about. I'm sure I'll add and subtract things until then though ;O).

So here it is all cleaned out and ready for furniture.

I'm so happy with the paint colour!

I painted the brown frame white to match better. I fell in love with this lithograph about 3 1/2 years or so ago and it's been in her room ever since. Mary Englebriet uses little Chinese girls in a lot of her prints.

Blooming where I planted them.

This rocking chair was in pieces at the end of my mom's driveway (she collects antiques) and I asked if I could take it home. Hubby glued it all back together for me and we painted it and I tole painted cherries all over the seat. I love it! Ones mans junk is truly another's treasure.

You know how Ty Pennington always has a "Special Project" that he saves until the last of the program "Extreme Makeover Home Edition"? Well I have a special project in mind to add to this room and when I finish I'll post pictures and you can try to guess what it is. I'm sooooooo excited about it!

TA DA!!!!!! There is it folks! I'm so happy with it! A couple of posts ago I talked about being unhappy about the bed-in-the-bag set that I got. I'm so glad I returned it and found this set instead! So whatcha think???? Will she love it!?
