Making my list and checking it twice...and other things.

I've started my pile of items to bring with us to China. It's not the easiest thing to do....pack for a 4 year old that is, especially when you aren't exactly sure of her size. I have been going threw "what-if" scenarios in my head and putting things in my pile that's been compiling in Jazmin's room. I got lots of great tips from this packing list site HERE.

I keep a continuous list going and mark things off as I get them. I'll have to write everything down and share my list with anyone who might need it as a reference for what to bring when adopting a toddler. Hubby thinks I'm off-my-rocker packing all these things. He'll be happy when he thinks he has to go to the store for something and I tell him I have it. Or we're in a public place and he needs the bathroom and realized they don't have TP! He is quite content to pack his bag the night before.... ;O)....I could always make a list for him and tuck it in his suitcase...beside the Dukorol that he won't think to pack...LOL ;O).

Jazmyn's room is still waiting for furniture...I ordered a bedroom suite from Sears a few weeks ago and have been calling wondering if it has arrived yet. One person tells you one date and the next tells you another. So I called and poured my heart out to a lady and said please just tell me straight-up when it will get here. She did a little investigation and found out that the bed isn't even manufactured yet and wouldn't be ready and shipped until the 15th of September!!! She said it was being manufactured in China...which is nice and all but I don't think Air Canada will let me bring it home!!!! So needless to say I cancelled the order and ordered a different one that was available and will arrive this Thursday. I hope ;O)! Then I will finally be able to take a picture and post it.
Did I tell you I did a "Little" laundry the other day!!!! Little tiny pink, green and purple clothes!!! They were so cute! I really wanted to put them out on the line but it started to rain so I didn't. It was thundering and lightning like it used to when we were kids, seriously I haven't seen it rain like that in well over 20 years! It must have hit a transformer cause this was what happened while I was in the middle of making candle tarts.
Our Nain, Labrador team is getting along wonderfully. I can't wait to hear all the stories when they get home. I still am torn that I didn't go but I know I wouldn't be 100% there. These two weeks off are just what I needed to not only do admin stuff but also chip away at the to-do-list that's on the fridge. I still have this week off which is great. Today hubby is working just across the bridge in Moncton so I think I'll go over with him for the day and do a little shopping for you know who!!!
34 MORE SLEEPS AND WE WILL HAVE HER IN OUR ARMS!!!!

Oh! And guess what else!!!! We will be celebrating our 7th anniversary on one of the 7 wonders of the world!!!

OOoo! I was so excited to read this post!!! :) I have goosebumps all over!!!

My husband thought I was a mad woman, with my packing, too! BUT we did use just about everything (other than some clothes that were too big for Tari!)

Oh my goodness. Just 34 more days? It'll fly!!!

Glad you got that bedroom set thing figured out. Ridiculous that you would have to go through such trouble. Love that your anniversary will be even more special this year! Look at all those goodies you're taking! Always good to be prepared. Counting days with you!!!! =)

Hey there...this is soooo exciting. You know, you may want to check with your agency, but when we got there we went to Walmart...yep...good ol' Walmart and got what our daughter needed - clothes, diapers, etc. - for very little money. We were in rural areas and there always seemed to be stores. We took about 3 days worth of diapers. Also - we took advantage of taking the prescriptions available through our agency - as did many - and we were soooo glad we did. We had one whole empty suitcase going that was filled when we came back. I took a 2 cardboard picture tubes and stuffed socks in them - but then later used them for pics.

Big congrats to you!!! She's a lucky little monkey. Great place to spend an anniversary. They have locks now that you can take that have been inscribed that you can chain on the Great Wall too! We got Maddie on Mother's Day - Wow!!

Take care!!!
