Ultimate Blog Party

Welcome to my site. Pull up a chair and get comfy, let me tell you a little about who I am and what I blog about.

My husband and I are adopting a precious little girl from China. We started the process well over 3 years ago. We suspect it will be another 1 1/2 years or so before they get to our file which was logged into their system in June 2007. They are currently 3 years backlogged, working on March 2006 files. It may sound confusing but if you are looking for clarity or have a question go ahead and ask.

My husband and I were married in 2002 and in 2003 we built our home. My husband works for Mazac corp. as a service technician for CNC machines all over Eastern Canada and sometimes Quebec and Ontario. I have a Hair/Nail Spa built onto my home and as of this coming April have been in business for 15 years! I opened when I was 24 years old and haven't regretted it for a second, I love being my own boss.

We have a daughter who is 21 years old and engaged to be married, her and her fiancee have their own little apartment not too far away which is wonderful because they have my beautiful 5 month old granddaughter aka "Grandbutton" with them and when I want to see her I can slip over in no time.

My husband and I love to spend time with friends and family. We are both youth leaders in our church and we LOVE them. It's so nice to be a part of a church family and have them come along side of you and partner with you on your passionate giftings and plug you into that exact area. Hubby worked with the youth for three years and I joined him a year later. It is so wonderful to feed into the lives of these youth and see them make a difference in their lives, others lives and in their community. We have youth that come to youth group that don't even attend our church on Sundays!!! How cool is that! We are a Christian based church, non denominational, we embrace anyone who comes threw the doors, get to know them introduce them to Jesus if they haven't already met Him and welcome them to participate in other areas where they may be gifted.

You know what is soooo totally cooool??? We have a young man who comes to youth who's aspiring to be a priest someday.....what's the big deal you say???....I'm a youth leader pastoring a future priest!!!! That blows my mind that God could use little old me to feed into this young mans life! Well if he could use a donkey :o)!!!!!

Ok, I got a little excited there didn't I! ;O)

My hobbies are vast....I love to paint, scrap book, sew, cross stitch, tole paint, read, study, (I'm taking courses part time with Christian Leadership University (I just did an exam last week and got an A!!....That was pretty encouraging for a former average student!) ), garden, walk, and probably tons more but I'm outta ideas. My husband likes to do wood working, walk, play hockey and golf.

Anyhow that's a little tid bit about who I am. This is my third year attending the UBP and I have to say I have met some pretty wonderful people. Well, last I seen there were over 700 people signed up so I think I'll put on a pot of java and sit for a bit while I come visit you......if you came to visit leave me a comment, I'd love to meet you. TTFN

We never really know who we're ministring to or what they'll do with it. That's why it's exciting just to do it and trust the Lord.

I can't believe you are waiting that long for a child. What patience and faithfulness God is teaching you.

We waited a bit longer for our children only I was just waiting to get pg which I finally did.

I hope the red tape speeds up and you get your daughter soon, but I do know it's His timing, not ours!

That's wonderful that you're trying to adopt. We tried doing that through the State and it was complicated and heartbreaking. So maybe when our biological children are older we will revisit the idea.. Thanks for joining the party! :)

THANK YOU for telling me how to fix my ugly, missing toenail problem! As soon as I remove that last bit of black nail I'll go get the gel one put on! (I'm assuming that doesn't hinder the growth of the new nail, which I'm guessing is going to take over a year. Bummer.)

That is so great that you are so involved with the youth at your church.

I am a Girl Scout leader, and these days parents are too "busy" to get involved. I am so happy I work from home so I can be there. Otherwise, my daughter would miss out on the fun Girl Scouts offer.

I am a grandma, too. It is so much fun. Stop by my blog- "Little Man", the grandson is often the star.
