30th LID.....last Tuesday!!!!!!!!

Am I getting that used to waiting that I forget to notice we have passed our 30th LID! It's been a long road with no end in sight so the LID anniversary's don't excite me any more. I have to tell you this year for some reason seems especially hard to not have our daughter with us. This marks Christmas number three with gifts under the tree for our daughter and she isn't here to open them. I knew we wouldn't have her here the first Christmas but we were pretty certain she would be here for the second, now we are on the third and I'm not seeing it happening for the fourth but I can certainly hope. At least we have Miss K to look forward to next year.
Jac is getting along great with her. She is now 8 weeks old! She is almost 8 lbs and healthy as an ox. Every chance I get to go see her I go, even if I'm just running in town for a coffee I'll stop by her apartment and snag a kiss from her. I was over today and took a few new pictures of her. She is wearing a blue hat cause it matched the big blue centipede stuffed toy that we sat her in.

Awww what a sweet littel thing Miss Kennady is. I love the second picture of her as she looks like she's just tolerating you guys taking her picture.

It broke my heart to read about the little boy. You're so right. I've often wondered why some people have children that clearly don't cherish them while others long and have empty arms. God certainly used you to bring a little spirit to both him and his Nanny. You'll never know how that small act of kindness and caring will impact them both. We definately need more people like you and Shane in this world.

I believe that 2009 will be your year. I pray with you that your little cherub will be home with you and Shane soon.

Hi Deb,
I know exactly how you are feeling - we are foster parents (as you know) and our hearts are always broken for all the children who truly need loving homes. You are is a shame that so many wonderful families want children so badly but don't have any when there are so many children living in very tragic situations!

Good for you for playing Santa and opening your heart (with all the despair it brings you knowing his situation) to remember a precious little child this Christmas! If only every person would do this, we would have a world FULL of happy, loved children!

Take care,

You are so much closer... it is getting will happen.

The baby is SO precious. I remember how difficult it can be to be around a baby and long for your own... I pray your time gets here quicker than they estimate.
