Life Lately

OK I just have to start by saying I'm sitting here blogging while watching "Jon and Kate + 8" and while they are being interviewed and she totally just turned to him and asked him to stop breathing hard....not once but like three different times!!!!!....then asked the camera crew if they could hear him!! What the heck? Excuse me for breathing!

Well the Christmas baking has begun! I made 18 Chocolate chip Banana bread loaves so far, then my sister and Mom came down last Saturday and we made our meat pies while listening to Christmas carols! We normally don't do this until the first week of December but things have just been too busy the last couple of years at that time so we did it early, music and all. Before we got our hands in the dough we went to the Christmas Craft Fair which is held in our area at this time every year. That set the stage for our meat pie making. While I was there I picked up this custom made baby sling I had ordered from a sweet gal in our church. Jac loves leopard print so she added it to a black background. Jac is going to love it! It's kind of hard to make out because the mannequin is wearing a black dress but the sling is lined on one side with the leopard print. It's nice and long so when Mommy is breast feeding she can cover herself and baby up. I'll have to add the link on my sidebar when she gets her website up and running. Her price is incredible!
I must have been really good this year! I got an early Christmas gift from my hubby, he was no doubt tired of hearing me complain about the printer I guess, so he got me this!! I was pretty excited to see all the added features it has! He also got me Kong Fu Panda, we loved it when we went to see it at the show.
I took an energy spurt on Monday and went to town cleaning out all my flowerbeds for the winter. I no sooner got out and ready to go and the rains came. It was pretty cool actually cause to the west it was sunny. I looked to the east and seen this beautiful double rainbow, you can see one really well but the other is just above it. It was breathtaking!
I spent the day yesterday in the wreck room in our bacement....cleaning....everything.... The floor had to be torn up because it was installed wrong. So hubs ripped er up and put the new flooring down and fixed a couple areas on the wall and ceiling and so there was sawdust and dirt everywhere. It took me the entire day to clean and boy am I paying for it today! Ouch!

This weekend Jac and Ty move into their first apartment together. They planned to do it eventually in the near future but when they realized all the hassle of just getting Kennady settled and moving her again they figured they would move while she is still in the hospital. It's going to be nice for them to have their own place, mind you I plan to spend a lot of time over there visiting lil' Miss Kennady. A LOT!

She is still on the feeding tube but has been feeding a bit with the bottle to get used to sucking. They have her out of the incubator and off the heart monitor so there are lots of wonderful changes happening. She is a strong little fighter. Dr. W said she could probably leave the hospital next week.
I just showed up to visit her tonight in time to get a couple of pics of her without the feeding tube taped to her little nose. Enjoy!

This last one is my total favorite! I adore this child!

Kennady IS a beautiful baby!

Reading the start of your post has made me HUNGRY! That sounds like such a net tradition you, your mom, and your sister have!

And I love that baby sling!...particularly that it has one end long enough to drape as a cover when the babe is nursing...what a great idea!

Kennady is just gorgeous! Such a wee little thing!

Love the sling. They are so handy! I always did my housework with my babies in the sling - they always went to sleep, and it helped getting them used to noise, while they slept.

Love the sling.

Kennady is a gorgeous baby...love those little lips.

Xmas baking already? Hum, not a bad idea actually. ha
I never have the time when it is time. If I had a extra freezer that would be a wonderful idea though.
