Today is election day here in Canada, so I would imagine I'll be running back and forth to the TV most of the day checking out the latest. It also happens to be my 39th birthday. Saturday night we just went out with a few people, I didn't want a big fuss made out of it. As you can see I was pretty impressed with how they decorated my plate with chocolate swirls! I received lots of beautiful gifts and cards but I have to give extra credit to my nephew who went out and bought his auntie a gift all on his own. All I could say to him was "Boii, your gonna make a girl proud one day!" Bath pillow, chocolates, bottle of cherries (my fave), back scrubby, scrubby mitt, pumas stone, cherry drops, a chocolate face mask and a pomegranate bath, cream, body spray and lip gloss set all packed up in a Tinkerbell baggie!!
As a treat to myself I took the day off work......well also because a lot of holidays fall on Monday and that is my normal day off so I made up for it by taking today off.
We had a great Thanksgiving on Sunday with my side of the family, it was nice to sit and enjoy each other while picking away at finger foods.
Yesterday we went to Shane's family get together and had a big turkey dinner. Everyone was there including our Brother-in-law.....long story short...His family Dr. had him sent to another province by ambulance to the cancer specialist...they upped one of his meds and our BIL started to have relief from his headache/pressure so because they were so busy they asked him to wait until today to come back over so they could prep him for surgery tomorrow. We were super impressed with the fact that his family Dr. here in our province called his house on Sunday to see how he made out in surgery especially with it being a holiday weekend and all, needless to say he was not very impressed with how things we so unorganized with the cancer specialist. Regardless we had him with us at the Thanksgiving table and for that we were very, very thankful.
While I'm thinking of it I might as well make note of the fact that Thursday will be our 28th LID anniversary......I know that dreams come true and I've seen many of you wait and wait and wait and then on day be able to stand there in front of your daughter with arms outstretched to finally feel your child in your arms. I'm holding on to that image.
Big congrats to my latest long time bloggy friend who's dream came true with a little miracle....the CC@@ seemed to have only referred up to Feb 15th but by God's grace there were a few from the 16th that ended up receiving theirs...so it may be safe to say that they referred 6 1/2 days worth. This is a first that I've ever heard of.
