We played lots of games and had tons of laughs. The room really created an atmosphere of simpler times with no roaring tv or video game in the background. The only thing you could hear was the fire crackling and the youth laughing, having fun and enjoying each other. It was all about relationship. At the end of the night after bellies were full and games were played we all stood in a circle and prayed. It was wonderful.
One by one they left to go home and each one came up to me and gave me a hug and said thank you....I hope that one day when they are reminiscing about Christmas pasts they remember the youth party that they had where there were no modern technologies in the room just a wood stove and people they love and cared for. I hope it helps them realize material things can come and go but friendships are forever.
Below is a slide show of our fun filled evening.
