A Little This-n-That

This was just a few of the children that came to the Halloween party that we had at our ministry center tonight for the children. We had a great time playing games and taking pictures of then all dressed up in their sweet costumes. I sat here with one of the kids for a photo and all of a sudden I was being jumped on left and right! I loved every minute of it! I don't think you can really make out what I'm wearing so just so you know!!!......it is a HUGE BIGGER THAN LIFE WHOOPEE CUSHION! Hummmm now that I look at the picture I think I can see how all the caramel got in my hair!

Well we are on the road once again with our youth group and I am more excited than I was the last couple of trips, you see we now have new grade 7 youths in our group for this year and I can't wait to see how God will work in their lives.

We leave on Thursday (tomorrow) for St. John, N.B and we will visit a place called Reversing Falls.

Return back to the Island on Saturday evening just in time for our anniversary Sunday service. We have been a church family for 10 years!

We will have 7 key speakers at this youth conference Stacy Campbell, Faytene Kryskow, Kayle Mumbly, Jesse Engle, Eddie/April Brown and Tabitha Lemaire.

We want to be in the middle of what God is doing and where He is - nothing less . We are running hard after HIM. This is why we are gathering in Saint John NB for our next national thrust: the REVERSE THE CURSE - SIEGE NATIONAL CONFERENCE.
THE REASON: 40 yrs ago, in 1967, a generation ushered in movements. These movements included the sexual revolution, new age movement, women's (choice) movement and a movement of rebellion to authority. Proclaiming to be enlightened, a generation 'Divorced God' and married secular humanism. 40 yrs later we see the devastating results of these movements which were supposed to bring peace, joy and love. Instead they brought death, divorce, sexual disease, drug addiction, perversion and confusion.

THE GOOD NEWS: The good news is tide is turning. From coast to coast we see a movement emerging. A movement of young (and young in heart) who are willing to lay down their lives, and agendas, to see God's dream for Canada come true. A prayer and fasting movement. A movement of young people who are addressing the leaders of our nation on issues of righteousness and morality. A movement of those who are saying, "We are not only going to speak the message but LIVE the message." A movement of radical, hard core, sold out, never looking back, undone, fearless lovers of God. A movement of those that won't just sing the "History Maker" song but who will BE it. A movement of those who will change this nation and the nation will not change them.

I am so excited to be helping out at our church this year with Operation Christmas Child. What a joy it is to fill a simple little shoebox with toys, necessities and a little letter letting them know someone out there is thinking of them this time of year. It's a wonderful thing for children to help with and it teaches them compassion for others. It is my hope and prayer that we will have more boxes collected this year than ever before. If you are interested contact your local Church's and see if they are participating.

What is Operation Christmas Child?
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. This program of Samaritan's Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands—on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.

National Collection Week is November 12-19.

EDIT: I just had a lady call me from our Church who wants supplies for 10 BOXES!!! YAY!

We love Operation Christmas Child. I need to do a post too. I always have the kids fill up the boxes and it means so much to them. Its a wonderful way to teach your child about the wonderful opportunity to give.

Operation Christmas Child is a fabulous idea. When my kids were younger they prepared their own boxes for Samaritan's Purse. It them appreciate how much they had even though we were not rich.

Reverse the curse...good idea.

We've participated in Operation Christmas Child for about four years, now. The kids do a box each, for a child their sex and age. They love it. And I'm sure it is well received on the other end! The last 2 years, the kid's school has participated too, with each class doing one girl and one boy box. So we contribute to that too!!!

HOpe the Youth Trips go well! Every member of the Body, counts!

It sounds so cool what your church is doing... it really sounds like they are alive for Christ! My church used to do something like operation Christmas Child, but we now make stockings and fill them for inner city children that a missionary we support in Philly... I love doing things like this!
