Meet Our Sponsor Child
I am bursting with joy! Today We sponsored a young boy from Burkina Faso-Africa. He will be 7 on July 22.
Compassion is an international child development ministry, committed to releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name by linking one child to an individual sponsor and providing holistic care.
Through Compassion's one-on-one sponsorship ministry, hundreds of thousands of children on four continents around the world receive practical help, hope for the future, and opportunities to break the cycle of poverty they would otherwise be bound to. For $35 a month, my commitment will provide:
- Regular Christian Training
- Educational opportunities
- Treatment & training to maintain to maintain child health
- Development of self-confidence & social skills
- Key life skills & vocational programs
Their hope is that we will also pray for our sponsored child and share the gospel with him or her through our letter-writing correspondence. We act as missionaries to their sponsor child!
Devoted to evangelism and discipleship,Compassion is:
Christ Centered.
Each child has an opportunity to hear the gospel in an age- appropriate and culturally relevant way.
Child Focused.
Engaging each child as a complete person, we treat children like we'd want our own children treated.
Church Based.
They partner with churches, parents, and communities- to teach, train, and mentor children.
At Compassion Canada, a minimum of 80% of all expenses are used on ministry activities, and less than 20% on fundraising and administrative costs.
Your package will come with a picture of your sponsor child, a write up about him or her, some info on the village the child lives in, a Q&A booklet, an easy to fill out form and an envelope. You can visit their website HERE and chose a child by age, gender or one that just touches your heart. The children on the site that have a heartY on their picture have been waiting a LONG time for someone to choose them and it is my own hearts desire that these children find the compassion they need.
I am so proud to say that we have a sponsor son in Africa, so now when anyone asks how many children we have I have the pleasure of saying THREE: One home with us, one we are patiently waiting for in China and one sponsor son in Africa!

Compassion is a wonderful organization. They are HQ's in Colorado Springs where I went to high school. I sponsored through them too. It's a wonderful thing to do.
He is so handsome! What a great thing to do!
What a beautiful little boy!!!
My nephew is really connected with Compassion. He has tables that he sets up at functions to help promote awareness etc. I think he sponsors like 3 kids too!! Not bad for a 20 yr old boy!!
Bless you!
What a handsome young man you have. The organization sounds wonderful. Congratulations on your Sponsored Son. It is wonderful!
What a handsome boy! What a wonderful thing you are doing!
You are both so compassionate and loving what a wonderful thing you've just shared with all of us.
You have certainly raised my awareness about this and wishing you all the best always!
That's wonderful :)
what a handsome guy he is too...how sweet to sponser him...
You have such a beautiful heart full of love and compassion.
You are going to love sponsoring through Compassion. We have two children that we sponsor through their organization and the most wonderful thing is to get letters from them every couple of months and we get to write them back too. You will be truly blessed just as much as you are blessing that young boy:)
We have sponsered through Compassion as well. It is a wonderful organization. You will love it.
Oh this is so wonderful! Love seeing his picture too.
That is wonderful.
We have a foster child in Paraguay. One of the biggest rewards is receiving letters from Fernando and seeing how he grows every year.
Awesome...what a beautiful thing to do!
love

a lot of people have done this at church... I think once Lorelei is out of diapers we are going to do it too... just right now the extra money is going to diapers lol...
You are so great! I had not heard of that organization. Isn't it great that so many are opening their hearts to loving those children in need?
We love supporting children with great needs. Ours is a "backyard" mission here in Florida at a Children's Home; a full care/cycle of care facility. I make this offer to everyone I meet, hoping others who have the time or resources will offer their help for these children. Please check it out. Thank you!
